Lots of other controversies were there too and the team shows no sign of solving them and the performance is also growing downwards. Oakland raiders ended as 29th in Offense and 24th in defense. The overall ranking was 31st and no one seemed to be shocked to see the ranking in the league table. Cornerback DeAngelo was playing well but his dismissal from the club was controversial too and the bad luck of Oakland Raiders continued with that.

Darrius Heyward-Bey has joined the raiders this season. Everyone was surprised with this decision of Raiders, but there was no answer from their side about the matter. The good news was that Michael Crabtree has signed the squad for 2009 as wide receiver. Now; the supporter can expect a fair performance from him. Everyone is now eager to see how JaMarcus Russell and Darren McFadden dup played on field and that will determine the success of the Raiders. Otherwise winning seems to be a distant target for Oakland Raiders.

JaMarcus Russell is a brilliant with lots of power and that is why he can be beneficial for Oakland Raiders in 2009 season. But this is not about sending the ball out of the stadium with his hands. He needs to improve his skills a lot and also the accuracy needs to be there. Physical strength can help you to reach certain levels but after that you need skill and accuracy to win the match. Johnny Lee Higgins, Ashley Lelie and Javon Walker have potential along with Darrius Heyward-Bey they can play and win some of the matches but this is surely not a winning combination and Raiders needs a good receiver to make the games for them.

Nnamdi Asomugha is the only bright player in the Oakland Raiders squad. Te defense is actually depends on him hugely. Michael Huff is also learning and improving a lot these days. If he can provide the support to Kalimba Edwards, Gerard Warren and Derrick Burgess then Oakland will surely do better this season. They need to coordinate and take off the pressure from linebackers to play the game most comfortably.
