Pittsburgh Steelers started great and just when everyone started expecting more from them the downslide started. They were consistent and a lot of potential players are there in the team but still they could not managed to be the best in 2008 NFL. Their team was good in both offense and defense but they failed to reach top. Especially, the defense was fantastic last year. It was dominating and extremely positive for the team. The team ranked first in both point and yards without facing much competition in the league table. James Harrison of their defensive squad became the best defense of 2008 and with him Troy Polamalu created intense defense and played very crucial part in almost all the matches. There was down fall in their performances but overall Steelers never disappointed its supporters. Comparatively, offense was not that good. But, the quarterback and other positions always did whatever was expected from them and overall coordination always helped Steelers to win the matches. Willie Parkre and Rashard Mendenhall were injured and missed most of the matches but still the team managed to reach a good position. On the other hand antonio Holmes and Hines Ward both played fantastic throughout the league and had a great season.
