No one really expected them to play so well and they surprised nearly everybody. They played fantastic against Minnesota Vikings and knocked them off. After that, they won against the defending giant New York Giant and throw them out of the league. The eagles was coordinated and well planned throughout and everyone felt their presence in the league. Donovan McNabb played beautifully throughout the year and helped the eagles to proceed smoothly. Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown could not play in most of the matches because of injuries. DeSean Jackson took the responsibilities of wide receiver and played beautifully throughout the whole season. Defense was in 3rd rank and definitely it was one of the best in the league. Trent Cole and Darren Howard successfully created a lot of pressure on the opponent quarterback and turned plenty of matches to their side.

Brian Dawkins has left the club and some other players like Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid have joined the squad. Brian Dawkins was leading the squad in last year and the team will surely miss him. Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid have to prove their worth in place of Dawkins and help the club to continue winning. The fans are eagerly waiting to see the changes the eagles have made in the off season. Time will tell how they implement new strategies and execute them on field. The success depends on that.

Donovan McNabb was surrounded by various controversies about how longer he is going to stay in the eagles and many things like that. Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson have made their comeback to the eagles. Brian Westbrook is another strong point and the eagles have shown their faith on him. He needs to stay fit for the whole season and inspire all the players to play better this season. If they can make a good understanding and coordination among them then things will become much easier for the club. The running back and wide receiver are strong positions and the eagles will surely make some big moves from these positions leave a mark on the field and league table in 2009 season.
