2009 Detroit Pistons NBA Season Preview
Last few years Detroit Pistons was slow, boring and unmotivated. It was clear that they were lacking the motivation. The enthusiasm was not there and people started losing their faith from the team. They last played well in the year 2004. Their president Joe Dumars thought they must stick to the winning combination. They continue with that combination but luck was not their side. Chauncey Billups joined the squad last time. He tried his best but did not get much support. This year the team has promised to come up with better performance so that the supporters can cheer for them again.
Rasheed Wallace left the squad this season. Dumars also sacked their previous coash and appointed their new coach John Kuester. He is the sixth coach of this club so far. Many things happened with the club in last few season. Dumars took a lot of controversial decision. If he could just stick to the basic things there was chance for the team reach the play off’s. But nothing happened because of those rash decisions.
Charlie Villanueva, Ben Gordon and Chris Wilcox have joined the squad for this season. If all of them can play well this time the club has huge chance of making it to the play off’s. All these players are in their 20’s and they can surely bring enthusiasm in the team. There skills and power will change the playing style and attitude of the other players.
Dumars recently said that they want to look forward now. They have walked backward in last few years. Now they have realized what the changes they need are and their team will act accordingly. They have a great and young squad now. And they are sure to run a long way this season. People are hoping that they will be able to see those promises on the court too. They will not remain as unfulfilled promises only.
Gordon, DaJuan Summers, Villanueva Rodney Stuckey, and Austin Daye will also be there in the squad to maintain the balance. Tayshaun Prince and Richard Hamilton will be the key players of this season for sure. They have huge responsibilities on their shoulder. Everyone is eager to know whether they can fulfill the expectations or fail to do that.
Gordon signed quite a huge contract with Detroit Pistons. He must play and do justice with the people’s expectation. The defense looks good and the offense seems balanced too. Now the players just need to be coordinated. Only a bit of coordination on the court can sometimes turn big games to their favor. The big players need to forget their ego. There are playing for one team and that should be their priority.
Villanueva signed a 5 years long contract with Detroit Pistons. People want to know whether they can make it to the top again. Nothing did work well for them and that is why everyone is waiting for the season to start. Once they start playing then the situation will be clear. Till then people must hope for best performances from Detroit Pistons.
