2009 Houston Rockets NBA Season Preview
Houston rockets team is quite a big name and they usually do not let their supporters down on the court. But last season the supporters were shocked to see their performance. Last season in the very first round they defeated Portland quite well and everyone was happy to see that performance. But after that, nothing good really happened to them and their performance graph started going down, down and more down. The supporters were expecting a comeback at some point of time but the team fails miserably in that.
Post season Tracy McGrady left the squad because of his injured knee. He went through a microsurgery in his knee later. Yao Ming was the second name who was suffering from an injured left foot that came into the spotlight after the season got over. He too has to leave the team for surgery then. And the third name was Ron Artest who left the team for a free agent after last season.
Houston Rockets were clueless about what went wrong with them. From a good position they almost went to the bottom and no one was able to find out anything. Everyone was so shocked that that no one could correct and figure out anything from that disastrous performance.
Yao is not there and the club is still searching for a good substitute. Rick Adelman joined the squad and his different types of playing style would surely help the team to perform well in this season. Aaron Brooks has also joined the squad as point guard and his skills and passing can help the team to reach a better position this season .obviously things needs to be placed properly and after last years performance no one is really hoping much from them.
David Andersen has joined the squad as Yao’s replacement this year. He has all the potential but the supporters need to wait till the season starts to know how he performs. Adelman is there and with Anderson he can make a good coordination to improve their team’s performance.
Daryl Morey the general manager of Houston Rockets said that they did not lack performer or passion. They were just unlucky last time and that is why they could not improve their performance graph last year. This year they are even working on the roster and salary cap. They eagerly want to come up with their best performance this year so that they can make their path to play off.
Trevor Ariza and Kyle Lowry both have joined the rockets squad but they lack the talents many other teams have. But Rockets believe in hard work and practice sessions. They are confident about their performance in the upcoming season.
Jermaine Taylor and Chase Budinger will lead the offense this year. And with a balanced line up Rockets team must performance. They have changed many things in their team and everyone is waiting to see how they perform this season. Only time can tell whether all these changes can bring good performances in them or not.
