2009 Orlando Magic NBA Season Preview
Orlando was trying hard for long time. But the play off’s seems to play a game with them always. But after struggling for long 14 years they finally reached the play off’s in 2008-09 season. It was surely like a dream come true for the Orlando Magic. But that does not mean they ended up winning the championship. Luck was still not with them and they could not make it to the final. It was unfortunate and disappointing. But the supporters are hoping a better performance this year so that they can reach and the championship this season.
Otis Smith the general manager of Orlando Magic said that they will try their best this time so that their supporters do not get disappointed at all. He took a real bold step this summer by taking Vince Carter in the squad. Hedo Turkoglu played really well last season but they did not take him and he left the club.
This step can be crucial for Orlando Magic. If it clicks then things can become fantastic. Otherwise the supporters will surely ask for explanation. But if you want to become a winner you ought to take risks. Otis Smith is ready to take the risk as he believes Carter is worth taking the risk and he has full faith on him.
Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis will be there to lead the squad. Though Lewis got suspended because of high dosage of testosterone intakes, but that will not affect his performance this season. These two played really well last season and that is why Orlando magic signed them so that they can continue their magic even this year. But with them there will Carter who has replaced Turkoglu this season. If this trio can gel well then there will be a lot of hope for Orlando magic this season.
The team is confident to reach the play off’s this season. With players like Shaquille O’Neal their confidence must boost. But one can never say what is going to happen on the court. Though, Orlando Magic is claiming that there is not many in their group who are desperate to win the championship.
Jameer Nelson is making a come back from his shoulder injury. Last three months were really tough for him as he was struggling with his shoulder injury and surgeries. Orlando Magic must help Nelson to get his position back. He can be a great support for the team if he stays fit. The roster is important. If the players become tired they won’t be able to perform their best.
Bass and Barnes are there to add the charm and skill to the court. The opponents need to take extra care of them for sure. Both of them are skilled and know how to turn the game in their side. Together all these players need to form a team and play as a team. Once they understand the value of togetherness or will be tough for any teams to stop them.
