2009 Philadelphia 76ers NBA Season Preview
Philadelphia 76ers had an okay season last time. They performed well throughout the season. People were really enthusiastic about their performances. They won some real good matches and there were some spectacular moments too. But the way they started they could not end on that high note. Yes, the performance was good but not brilliant. This year they want to win and fulfill whatever dreams they could not reach last year.
The off season went really well for them as they signed Elton Brand for a long five years contract. This contract became talk of the town for quite a few months. And now the whole team is feeling optimistic and enthusiastic.
Their performance was good last season and they are confident to continue their run even this season. With players like Elton Brand things can only become better and not worse. The supporters are happy to see this and hopefully Philadelphia 76ers will never let them down.
Coach Tony DiLeo is taking care of everybody so that they can perform their level best on the court. Last year Philadelphia could not win the play off’s. This year Tony DiLeo is determined to win all the matches. They want to have no doubts about it and that is why they are practicing pretty hard.
Last year it was Coach Maurice who was taking all the responsibilities. But this year the management replaced him with Tony Dileo. General manager Ed Stefanski signed Eddie Jordan to play for Philadelphia this season. If everything fall in places then Philadelphia 76ers surely has chance to win this season.
This is Jordan’s third club as a coach. Philadelphia 76ers has full faith on him and they believe that he can make progress with his club properly. In past two years his record was pretty nice and that is why everyone is hopeful that he can manage the players well. Last year Brand was suffering from various injuries. He is one of the main pillars the club is looking forward. That is why he must play more matches this year. He will join the squad soon that too in good physical condition.
Samuel Dalembert has joined the squad this year. Louis Williams, Andre Iguodala and Thaddeus Young will join the squad with him. Together they can create a fantastic combination. Samuel Delmart could not do justice with his potential last season. But this year he promised to make a good comeback for his team. The rest is yet to come but till now people have a lot of hope from the squad.
The squad looks pretty balanced. With all these players rookie Jason Kapono and point guard Jrue Holiday will also sign for the club. Now the club can surely make a better roster to avoid injuries. The players must stay fit through out the season so that they can make their game plans properly. The season is yet to start but the heat is already on. To know the result the supporters need to wait till the season starts.
